I was sorting through some digital images the other day when this photo of Daylily ‘Apricot Symphony’ brought a big ol’ smile to my face.
I’ve blogged about this pretty cultivar in the past, but it is worth mentioning again. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been trapped in the house for too many months this winter, but the color of this daylily just screams “summer” to me.
The 7-inch flowers are a warm peach color with hints of coral and gold. This cultivar grows 32 inches tall. Mine anchors the back of one of my annual beds where the bright flowers bob along next to zinnias, salvias and tall ageratums.
The plants churn out an abundance of beautiful flowers for weeks each summer, and this cultivar blooms happily in sun or part-shade.
