With some daylilies you really have to shove your nose into the flower to detect any scent, but not so with ‘Raspberry Sunshine’. The flowers are very fragrant and the scent is especially noticeable on humid summer days and evenings.
The flowers are a medium-rose color with a royal-purple hue to them and they have a golden-yellow throat. They are very large—7 inches—and appear on 26-inch scapes in the middle of the daylily season.
I think the color looks especially lovely with purples. My plant grows next to a clump of balloon flowers.
