Ageratum ‘Blue Diamond’

A lot of the short, front-row annuals come in warm shades like red, yellow, and orange. That’s why ageratums can be a nice break from the “heat”.

‘Blue Diamond’ ageratum grows 14 to 16 inches tall with fluffy, lavender flowers that appear on upright, bushy plants.

The plants bloom heavily and aren’t bothered by diseases or insects. If you deadhead the spent flowers, another flush of fresh blooms will soon replace them.

‘Blue Diamond’ looks lovely with any color in the garden. My favorite pairing is pink or rose like this ‘Milady Rose’ annual aster:

I also like to mix the lavender flowers with reds like these ‘Zahara Raspberry’ zinnias:

‘Blue Diamond’ blooms from early summer until frost and makes a perfect easygoing, front-of-the-border plant.
