Petunia ‘Easy Wave Red Velour’

There are three Easy Wave Velour petunias, and I tested two of them this summer. I already posted about the lovely ‘Easy Wave Burgundy Velour’, but I think I think ‘Easy Wave Red Velour’ is even more stunning. I’m a sucker for deep, rich reds:

This petunias has almost blackish-red, velvety flowers that won’t fade in the hot sun. The plants grow 6-12 inches tall and spread 30 to 40 inches.

I also saw a huge mound of them on display at an annual test garden. This is ‘Easy Wave Red Velour’ planted with ‘Tidal Wave Silver’ petunias:

I like the combination above, but I would like to try pairing this pretty red petunia with some dark-purple companions. I guess that means I’ll be planting it again next year.
