I like to extend the daylily season by growing early, mid and late-flowering cultivars. ‘Ruby Sentinel’ starts blooming just as some of my other daylilies are finishing up for the season.
The flowers are ruby-red with a yellow-green throat. The scapes grow 36 inches tall and the 5-inch flowers are fragrant. The rich red color really stands out planted next to yellow or gold flowers.
‘Ruby Sentinel’ is a dormant daylily that blooms late in the daylily season.
