For many years my ‘Slow Burn’ daylily only received early morning and very late afternoon sun, but it continued to thrive. Now that my neighbors removed and ash tree (in anticipation of the carnage that will be the Emerald Ash Borer in our area), ‘Slow Burn’ is once again in the sun for most of the day.
This daylily has 6-inch fiery-red flowers on scapes that reach 28 inches tall. ‘Slow Burn’ is one of my longer-blooming daylilies. I can count on a flower show for almost 6 weeks each summer.
This semi-evergreen daylily blooms in full sun to part-shade in the middle of the daylily season and is hardy to Zone 4.
