One of my favorite go-to zinnias is ‘Profusion Double Cherry’. This cultivar never lets me down. The plants are loaded with cherry-pink flowers all summer into fall and pests and diseases don’t bother them.
Even if I forget to deadhead the plants, the flowers just keep coming for months and months.
The plants grow 12-14 inches tall and that bright pink color looks especially fetching next to purple or lavender companions.
The flowers last a long time but when they finally tire out they fade to shades of light pink which makes for an interesting display of new and old flowers:
It’s not surprising that this plant won the All-America Selections Gold Medal Flower Award as well as the European Fleuroselect Gold because this zinnia truly is a star.
