My Still-Buried ‘Inca Apothecary’ Daylily

A few years ago I wrote about a daylily that always surprises me each summer because it’s buried behind some overachieving red daylilies, and I keep forgetting to move it someplace else.

‘Inca Apothecary’ grows 38 inches tall with flowers that are officially registered as a “cinnamon rose blend”. Sometimes I wonder how long individuals or committees have to work to choose the official registered colors for some of the daylily cultivars. If you look closely, ‘Inca Apothecary’ has a lot going on in the color department. Depending on the light conditions there’s gold, pink and salmon and even some hints of orange and brown.

‘Inca Apothecary’ is a midseason-blooming daylily with 6-inch flowers. This cultivar was registered in 2000.
