Coleus flowers are like hosta flowers—they’re really not the most attractive part of the plant. I usually clip mine off before they bloom, well, until early fall when I don’t care anymore.
However, I’ve noticed over the years that the flower stalks that have escaped my attention are always a bumblebee magnet.
Since bumblebees and honeybees are having a rough time of it these days, I decided to let my coleus plants blossom to their heart’s content this summer, and the plants have literally been buzzing with activity.
