Last year during the second week of September my potted petunias still looked like this:
I can’t show you what they look like this year because they are already in the compost heap. I pulled all of them out last week. The excessive rain was too much for them and they were spindly and pathetic.
I know it wasn’t the cultivars I chose because I grew some of the same ones as last year. My potted plants (begonias, coleus) that were protected under the roof overhang still look fine because they didn’t spend most of August swimming.
