It was probably one of the worst growing years to try to evaluate a new-to-me petunia cultivar. The rain and rain and more rain did a number on most of my annuals, and by the end of summer many of my plants just rotted or stopped flowering altogether. Petunia ‘Ramblin’ Sky Blue’ did the latter.
When summer started, these plants were growing nicely with lovely bluish-lavender flowers.
This is my favorite petunia color but every time I try a new cultivar, it either performs poorly or the seeds are only available for that year and then they disappear.
I would be happy to give this petunia another try. ‘Ramblin’ Sky Blue’ grows 10-14 inches tall with a spread of up to 3 feet. I started my plants from seed in my basement about 12 weeks before it was safe to plant them outside in spring.
