I like to try a new marigold or two each year, so this summer I’m giving ‘Endurance Sunset Gold’ from Burpee a chance.
The flowers are HUGE for a French marigold—almost 3 inches across!
They plants are as impressive as my other favorite French marigolds, the Durango series.
‘Endurance Sunset Gold’ grows 12 inches tall in a mounded habit. My only complaint is that this particular cultivar is supposed to be gold with hints of orange on the petals, but most of my flowers are just plain gold.
As a bonus these marigolds do not set seed, so they do not need to be deadheaded to keep blooming.
I would definitely grow this showy marigold again.
