Rudbeckia ‘Early Bird Gold’ is still one of my favorite summer-blooming perennials.
It’s been 10 years now since I first planted this winner, and I’m still disappointed that it disappeared from local garden centers about 5 years ago. More people should be growing this tough, heavy-blooming perennial.
Thankfully I’ve been able to transplant some of the runners into different flowerbeds and keep my collection going.
‘Early Bird Gold’ grows 24 inches tall in full to part-sun. The flowers start appearing in mid-July and put on a show for 6 weeks or more.
