Checking in with Marigold ‘Strawberry Blonde’

This is my second year growing Marigold ‘Strawberry Blonde’ French marigolds.

Growing conditions can affect plants from year to year so I always try not to judge too harshly, but this cultivar just isn’t as showy this year. The flowers look good, but there aren’t nearly as many of them this year.

I do love the completely different color of these marigolds compared to the regular yellows, oranges and reds you get with most small marigolds.

‘Strawberry Blonde’ grows 8 to 10 inches tall with flowers that start out red and fade to yellow and include shades of pink, mauve and even brown.
