I don’t think this is going to be a good leaf-peeping fall in southern Wisconsin. Most of the leaves on our neighborhood maples were turning brown and dropping off already even before the first frost.
Trees that have leaves that turn yellow (like birches) seem to be doing okay, but most of them are already past peak.
This turning-brown-and-falling-off thing has been going on for the last 3 years—all 3 of which had way-above-average rainfall, so I’m guessing there’s a connection.
