I have hit-or-miss luck with salvias—especially since I don’t have a lot of full sun areas in my yard. ‘May Night’ has always done very well for me, but other salvias I’ve tried have just disappeared on me over time.
One that has thrived in my north-facing garden for for than 5 years now is ‘Sensation Rose’.
I love the purplish-rose flower spikes.
This salvia grows 12 inches tall and wide and starts blooming in early summer. The cultivar is hardy in USDA Zones 3-8.
