Other than making the mistake of assuming ‘Garnet Treasure’ would reach the 18 inches of its 12-to-18-inch height, I was quite impressed with this zinnia. My plants topped out at 12 inches and got a little buried later in the summer. I will stick it in the 2nd row instead of the 3rd or 4th from now on.
‘Garnet Treasure’ has rich, scarlet-red flowers that keep coming all summer long. Well unless of course you have 500 million hungry bunnies like I do this summer. The plants are still growing happily, but the bunnies are biting off and dining on all the flowers before I can enjoy them.
I started ‘Garnet Treasure’ from seed indoors about a month before our last frost date.
