Peony ‘Sorbet’

Peony ‘Sorbet’ is finally coming into its own in my yard. I mail ordered a tuber a couple of years ago and planted it next to my blueberry bush which gets a mixture of shade and sun depending on the time of day. This peony has a nice fragrance, but it isn’t as sweet or strong as the favorite I grow, ‘Moonstone’.

‘Sorbet’ has pink and white frilly petals and the plants grow about 32 to 36 inches tall.

Peonies will grow in full sun to part-sun and prefer well-drained soil with plenty of moisture. They are resistant to deer and bunnies and bloom in late May/early June.

Peonies can live for decades and don’t really like to be moved, so choose your planting location wisely! One bonus is that they don’t need to be divided.

‘Sorbet’ is hardy in Zones 4-8.
