As I mentioned recently, I’m growing more than a dozen tomato varieties this summer and most of them are new for me. So far ‘Pink Berkeley Tie Dye’ is my favorite.
The fruits start out a stripey green and then slowly add red as they ripen. They are gorgeous!
And they aren’t just showy. This tomato has beat out ‘Cherokee Purple’ (one of my all-time favorites heirlooms) in taste tests.
‘Pink Berkeley Tie Dye’ is an indeterminate tomato that grows 5 to 7 feet tall and produces 8 to 12-ounce fruit starting in about 65-75 days from planting.
The taste is described as sweet, rich, dark and complex.
