Planting mixes of Zesty and Preciosa zinnias worked out well for me this year. I’m always wary of mixes because you can end up with one color dominating. Other than my patio planters that somehow ended up with 90% orange zinnias, the other plants I tucked into my flowerbeds ended up a pretty good mix of colors.
Zesty zinnias grow 18 to 24 inches tall and Preciosa zinnias are supposed to reach 10-12 inches high but in my part-sun flowerbeds average about 14 inches tall. Both series will bloom all summer long, are pest and disease-free and attract pollinators.
