Borage is an annual herb that brings some pizzazz to the flower garden. The plant has beautiful sky-blue flowers. I haven’t grown Borage for years, but a volunteer plant appeared in my garden last fall, and I was reminded how pretty the flowers are. I made a note to purchase one this spring.
The actual plant is not that exciting. In fact, it looks a bit strange with its hairy leaves and stems, but the bright blue flowers are very eye-catching:
Borage grows 2 to 3 feet tall and prefers full sun. It’s a good idea to stake the plant because it can blow over in heavy rain or winds. Bees just adore it.
