I planted Hosta ‘Mini Skirt’ a couple of years ago and this little front-of-the-border hosta is finally filling out. The color is still a bit off, however, so I’m still wondering if it really IS ‘Mini Skirt’.

This miniature hosta grows 5 inches tall and 13 inches wide with a mounding habit. Check and check for my plant. But it’s supposed to have “blue-green leaves with creamy-yellow margins.”

Some of the newer leaves have very limey-green margins, but the older ones do indeed have creamy-yellow ones. I’m still not seeing much blue coloring though on the rest of the leaves.

Hostas will change color depending how much sun they get, and my plant gets more afternoon sun than it probably should which may account for the green (rather than blue-green) leaves.
Or perhaps I’m growing a completely different cultivar that happens to grow the same height and width as ‘Mini Skirt’!
