At the peak of daylily season in my yard, there are so many yellow, red and orange cultivars blooming all at once that my ‘Jungle Beauty’ daylily always grabs my attention.
The blackish-purple flowers are almost 6 inches wide, and they have a big, contrasting neon-yellow throat.
This dormant daylily was registered in 1990 and won an American Hemerocallis Society Honorable Mention award in 1996.
Even after a hot afternoon in the sun, the flowers hold their color very well. ‘Jungle Beauty’ blooms in the middle of the daylily season and will grow in full or partial sun.
