Daylily ‘Wineberry Candy’ won an American Hemerocallis Award of Merit in 1997. That award is given to a daylily cultivar that “is not only distinctive and beautiful, but also performs well over a wide geographic area.” Everyone loves a winner, so this daylily is also the parent plant of almost 80 other daylily cultivars!
‘Wineberry Candy’ grows 22 inches tall with 5-inch fragrant flowers. The official color registration is “orchid with purple eyezone and green throat.”
I’ve grown this daylily since 2007, and it’s performed well for me in both full sun and partial-shade.
‘Wineberry Candy’ is a dormant daylily that blooms in the middle of the daylily season.
