The Return of ‘Toodleloo Kangaroo’

I don’t recall seeing daylily ‘Toodleloo Kangaroo’ bloom in my backyard for the last few years, but it sure showed off in one of my daylily beds this summer. If I recall, I moved my plant from a shadier to a sunnier location, so maybe it was taking its sweet time getting established.

‘Toodleloo Kangaroo’ is an unusual-form crispate daylily. You can see how the petals twist and curl at the ends.

This is a tall daylily. The scapes reach 44 inches and the creamy golden-yellow flowers are 7 inches across. They have a maroon eye that forms a little triangle.

‘Toodleloo Kangaroo’ is a dormant daylily that was registered in 2003. Out of the hundreds of daylilies I grow, it’s one of the last to bloom each summer.
