I may give up on sprouting coleus from seed in the winter. While I love the Kong series coleus, the seeds are ridiculously expensive, and this spring I had more fun picking out a few different kinds of coleus plants at the garden center that were already way ahead of my seed-sprouted ones by mid-May.
These are the Kong Rose coleus I grew from seed. I usually chop off the flowers, but the bumblebees and other pollinators really like them so I left them this year.
