The Zahara and Profusion Zinnias have been my reliable zinnias for years in my flowerbeds. They come in singles and doubles and in many warm and cool colors, and they require little care from me each growing season.
But there’s a new series available called Zydeco, and while the seed company that created it doesn’t say specifically which “industry standard” their new zinnia is being compared to, it certainly looks to me like they are talking about Zahara zinnias (which are around the same height as the new Zydeco).
The flowers are supposed to be 25% bigger than that mystery “industry standard” and the plants reach a heights of 14 to 20 inches which would be a little bit taller than the Zaharas.
So far there are 4 colors available (deep yellow, fire, white and cherry), and I plan to sprout a few seeds this winter and test out the plants in my flowerbeds next spring!
