This spring I moved my ‘Kansas Kitten’ daylily to a sunnier location. It has incredibly gorgeous wine-grape-colored flowers with a darker-purple eye, and giving it more sun will mean the plant will produce more flowers to enjoy each summer.
I moved it to one of my daylily beds that gets several more hours of sun each day, but I forgot one thing. My ‘Little Joe’ Joe Pye Weed had not even poked up in the spring when I moved the daylily, and when “Joe” finally does appear, it grows like gangbusters.
Somewhere under this very happy 6-foot clump of Joe Pye weed is my pretty purple daylily. ?
Guess who has a note to move ‘Kansas Kitten’ again next spring?
