Every year I tell myself that tulips aren’t worth growing in my yard—-too many hungry rodents in this neighborhood!
But when I see photos of all those pretty flowers online or in someone’s yard or I get a catalog in the mail, I just can’t resist the temptation. This year I decided that I would replenish my collection of double early tulips which has all but disappeared thanks to munching chipmunks. I ordered 5 bulbs of 5 different kinds to spread throughout our yard.
I received my order last week, and I want to give a shout-out to Brent and Becky’s Bulbs for their creative packaging method. I usually order bulbs in July, so by the time they arrive in October and November I don’t even remember what I ordered anymore. But the Heaths attach a plastic garden stake to each bag of bulbs so you know not only the name of your tulips, but what they look like when they’re in bloom. How cool is that?
I assume the QR code is supposed to take the customer to that item on their website, but when I tried it I ended up in a Google search instead. Once they get that figured out this packaging method will be even more impressive!
