Marigold ‘Durango Bolero’

Durango French marigolds make it into my flowerbeds every year because they are so reliable and put on an impressive flower display.

‘Durango Yellow’ is my go-to front-row flowerbed filler but I also like ‘Bolero’ which is orange with splotches of red:

These dwarf French marigolds will bloom all summer until a hard freeze and need little care. They are also heat tolerant.

The flowers are large for a dwarf cultivar and the plants grow 10 to 12 inches tall. You can direct-sow these seeds in the garden once the threat of frost has passed in late spring. I start mine indoors in mid-April so I can get blooms faster.
