In my search for pollinator plants this spring, I found a cute dwarf anise hyssop plant called ‘Poquito Butter Yellow’:
The plants grow 10 to 12 inches tall and prefer full sun. I tucked two plants into a part-sun area and they are doing very well this summer. They each spread more than a foot and have been covered with cheery yellow flowers since late May.
‘Poquito Butter Yellow’ grows in hardiness zones 5a to 10b. The plants prefer well-drained soil and are supposed to be rather drought-tolerant, but you should watch for stress during extended dry spells.
The flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
