‘Autumn Colors’ is another rudbeckia that’s easy to grow from seed. The flowers come in beautiful shades of gold, bronze, mahogany and even brown. They like full sun or partial-shade conditions.
‘Autumn Colors’ grows 20 to 24 inches tall, and the flowers can reach 5 inches across. The plant often behaves like a perennial and survives winter in my Zone 5 climate. I use the plants to fill in gaps or put them in problem areas because they get off to such a quick head start.
Like all the other rudbeckias I grow, ‘Autumn Colors’ does occasionally suffer from wilt, and it can also develop powdery mildew. I find that the beautiful blooms are worth the gamble.
