Daylily ‘Shadow Passage’

I found Daylily ‘Shadow Passage’ on discount at a daylily farm’s going-out-of-business sale. The plant was in bloom, and being a sucker for watermarks, I surrrendered.

The official color is registered as “lavender violet purple with rose mauve watermark above a green throat”. Um, that narrows it down. It really is a complicated color to describe. I would say the flowers are predominantly rose or mauve in the sun, but in the shade or on cloudy days, the violet color becomes more pronounced.

‘Shadow Passage’ grows 28 inches tall with pretty 6-inch flowers. This dormant daylily blooms mid-season on sturdy, well-branched scapes.
