Exquisite

This year I grew a new (to me) zinnia from Burpee called ‘Exquisite.’ Their description was “Large, 4-5″ blooms burst open a bright red, and as new ones appear every day, the older ones change to a rosy-red then a softer still rose.” I was intrigued by the idea of one plant having different-colored blossoms on it at the same time so I had to try it. Rather than bright red, all my flowers started out deep pink or near-coral before fading to rose. I still liked the effect. This cultivar would make a great addition to a cottage garden.
