I’ve had bee balm ‘Grand Parade’ in my garden for three years now. I hate to keep repeating myself, but I’m still amazed that it continues to bloom so heavily in such a compact clump. Most bee balms “wander” from where you plant them, and the center of the plant eventually dies out completely.
The other impressive thing about ‘Grand Parade’ is that it has never developed so much as a speck of powdery mildew—even last summer in our extremely wet and humid weather.
I haven’t had to fuss with ‘Grand Parade’ at all. I do sheer it back after 8 to 10 weeks of beautiful blooms to encourage it to flower again (which it does).
‘Grand Parade’ grows 15 to 18 inches tall with beautiful lavender flowers that are covered with bees all summer long.
