Chrysanthemum ‘Lemonsota’

It’s finally show time for mums. I added a few new cultivars to my flowerbeds this spring. So far the most impressive is an introduction from the University of Minnesota called ‘Lemonsota’:

‘Lemonsota’ grows 12 inches tall (mine is about 15 inches tall) with a spread of 18 to 24 inches. My plant is covered with 1-inch, lemon-yellow pompons:

‘Lemonsota’ is happiest in full sun to part-shade (my plant is growing successfully under an oak tree). It tolerates pollution and urban environments and is hardy to Zone 3.
