Daylily ‘Inca Apothecary’

I have a daylily that surprises me every summer when it blooms because I unintentionally buried it behind a big group of bright-red daylilies.

I would describe the interesting flowers of ‘Inca Apothecary’ as pink with undertones of rose and brown. The official color description is “cinnamon rose blend” which sounds much fancier.

‘Inca Apothecary’ is a tall daylily. The scapes reach 38 inches with pretty, 6-inch flowers. This semi-evergreen daylily blooms in the middle of the daylily season. It looks lovely with purple flowers, but yellow or gold flowers really draw out Inca’s contrasting chartreuse throat.
