I just love my ‘Rose de Rescht’ shrub rose. It’s easy to care for, and the plant is so dense that a bird could nest in it. My plant is smothered in blooms right now and new flowers will keep appearing all summer long.
‘Rose de Rescht’ is an old Damask rose or Old-fashioned rose, so the blooms have a lovely old-rose scent. I planted mine next to our screen porch so I could enjoy the amazing fragrance all summer long.
This robust rose grows about three feet tall and about 2 to 3 feet wide. It is tidy and disease-resistant. The flowers are fuchsia-pink, stuffed with petals and take on a purplish hue as they fade.
‘Rose de Rescht’ would make a fantastic rose for lining a walkway because the plants are so compact and well-behaved.
‘Rose de Rescht’ is hardy in Zones 5-9.
