Oriental Lily ‘Salmon Star’

My new ‘Salmon Star’ Oriental lily got buried by an overachieving rose this summer, so I may have to move it. However the extra shade may have protected the flowers from the scorching sun in July. Those flowers just sort of snuck up on me after a triple-digit hot spell when I gave up going outside altogether.

The flowers are salmon-tinged-white with touches of orange and yellow and are loaded with dark-pink freckles.

‘Salmon Star’ shares the same strong fragrance as other Oriental lilies. The plants only grow 24 to 28 inches tall, so you can plant them toward the front of a flowerbed and get a whiff of that delicious scent every time you walk by.

‘Salmon Star’ grows in full sun to partial-shade and is hardy in Zones 3-8.
