I was expecting a little more color from Orienpet lily ‘Nymph’ when it bloomed for me for the first time last July. However, the flowers started opening just as the hottest temperatures of the summer arrived, so I’ll wait until ‘Nymph’ blooms again this year before I pass final judgment.
‘Nymph’ is supposed to grow 4 feet tall (my plants didn’t get anywhere near that tall) with creamy-white flowers and a rose-pink accent on the petals. I love to grow Orienpet lilies because they perform very well in partial-shade and the stems are thick and sturdy and can handle the antics of squirrels and chipmunks.
The flower color looks a little yellowish in these photos, but that’s just pollen staining from being watered by a sprinkler.
The blooms are outfacing and have a subtle, sweet fragrance. ‘Nymph’ is hardy in Zones 5-9.
