Winter was not kind to my roses or my butterfly bushes. I lost 3 of each. I was afraid my heucheras would take a hit as well because they tend to heave out of the ground when there is a lot of freezing and thawing, but I didn’t lose a single one. In fact, some of them are already starting to bloom. This is heuchera ‘Snow Angel’:
The stem full of little coral bells is just starting to straighten:
Heuchera ‘Solar Power’ is also blooming despite our lack of “solar power” lately:
‘Snow Angel’ is a compact heuchera that tops out at about 8 inches with coral-pink flowers. ‘Solar Power’ grows 12 inches tall with red-splashed, lime-green leaves and white flowers. Both plants perform well in sun to part-shade.
