Amaryllis ‘Exotica’

My overachieving amaryllis with three scapes on its tiny frame is now blooming. One of the scapes fell behind which is a good thing because there isn’t even enough room for all the flowers to open fully on the other two scapes.

‘Exotica’ stands out from other amaryllis plants because of its unusual color. The 5-inch flowers are apricot or pale salmon with white (or sometimes lime-greenish-white) striations and a darker apricot throat.

The plants grow 20 to 24 inches tall, but my plant has topped out at 14 inches.
