Calendula ‘Candyman Yellow’ is an easy-to-grow annual with fully-double, golden-yellow flowers. Calendulas will grow in full sun or part-sun and bloom all summer long if you keep them deadheaded. Older calendula cultivars were happier as cool-season plants for late spring and early fall, but the newer cultivars—like ‘Candyman Yellow’—can handle the heat of summer.

‘Candyman Yellow’ grows 12 inches tall and is easy to sprout from seed.

Daylily ‘Creepy Crawler’ has interesting little “teeth” on its bright-yellow flower petals. This cultivar is a heavy bloomer. The 6-inch fragrant flowers will keep coming for weeks each summer.

‘Creepy Crawler’ looks fantastic in the garden with darker flowers likes purples or reds.

Darwin Tulip ‘Golden Apeldoorn’ has gorgeous golden-yellow flowers that grow 20-24 inches and bloom in mid-spring.

Many tulips tend to disappear from the garden after a few years, but ‘Golden Apeldoorn’ is a very long-lasting, reliable cultivar that also makes a great cut flower.
