I noticed the large yellow throat from a distance when ‘Cradle of Bethlehem’ first bloomed for me this year. The flashy flowers especially stand out in the morning and evening.
‘Cradle of Bethlehem’ has lovely dark purple edges surrounding that lime-yellow throat. It’s a dormant daylily cultivar that was registered in 2007.
‘Cradle of Bethlehem’ grows 26 inches tall with 5.5-inch flowers (and yet mine are bigger this year!):
This daylily won an Honorable Mention award from the American Daylily Society in 2010.
‘Cradle of Bethlehem’ blooms in the middle of the daylily season.
