I purchased Daylily ‘Now and Zen’ in the fall of 2011, so its first summer in my garden (2012) was accompanied by scorching heat—often in the triple digits—and a nasty drought. But ‘Now and Zen’ has proven to be one tough plant.
Not only did ‘Now and Zen’ thrive during the drought and heat, but the following summer it established itself as one of the best-looking daylilies in my garden. And that’s saying something when you grow hundreds of daylilies.
‘Now and Zen’ has happy mustard-yellow flowers with a dark maroon eye and edge. This daylily contrasts nicely with dark reds like Monarda ‘Jacob Kline’ (in the back middle of the above photo).
‘Now and Zen’ grows 25 inches tall with 4-inch flowers that start appearing in the middle of the daylily season and keep coming for weeks.
