I may have brought my forced tulips out of cold storage a little too early this year. I only had two pots of them (the rest of the pots were filled with hyacinths) and both sent up slightly stunted foliage with flowers that are smaller than usual. A few of the bulbs didn’t send up any foliage at all.
They are still better than staring at snow and ice, so I’m enjoying the flowers that have opened.  This is a new Triumph tulip called ‘Hot Pants’:
The flowers are ivory with dark-pink edges that increase as the flowers mature.
I love the centers which are splashed with dark purple:
‘Hot Pants’ grows 16 to 18 inches tall in Zones 3-7.
