Blueberry ‘Jelly Bean’

My two ‘Dwarf Northsky’ blueberries are loaded with blossoms this spring:

Unfortunately the other blueberry bush I planted last year didn’t survive the winter. Rather than buy another standard cultivar and wait until next year for berries, I went with the new buzzed about ‘Jelly Bean.’ It was bred to grow in pots and produce fruit the first year that has “super sweet flavor like homemade blueberry jelly.”

‘Jelly Bean’ is a compact, mounded plant that grows 1 to 2 feet tall in full sun. It’s hardy in Zones 4-8. I’m optimistic that this little bush will live up to the hype.
