If you wanted to get your hands on some ‘Royal Sunset’ LA lilies, they are back in stock for spring shipping at B&D Lilies (no affiliation). Just three bulbs showered me with all these blooms last summer, and the show lasted for 4 weeks.
The flowers really are the color of a sunset in beautiful pink and orange shades, and the centers have adorable, dark-brown freckles.
LA lilies are a cross between an Asiatic lily and an Easter lily. The plants grow on hardy stalks and are happy in sun or part-shade.
‘Royal Sunset’ grows 4 feet tall when mature and starts blooming in late June. The bulbs are hardy in Zones 3-10.
