Tulip ‘Bright Gem’ has fun light-yellow flowers tinged with orange highlights. This hardy species tulip grows 4 to 6 inches tall.
Because species tulips are much shorter and smaller than regular garden tulips, the critters (especially squirrels) don’t seem as interested in digging them up or lopping off their heads. Over time ‘Bright Gem’ will naturalize.
‘Bright Gem’ blooms in mid-spring. You can plant this tulip with cool-colored companions in shades of pink, white or purple, but it also blends perfectly with hot colors like oranges and reds.
