The tulip season has reached its end, but I have one more cultivar to share.
My ‘Salmon Gem’ tulips bloomed for the first time in my garden during a rough patch of rainy, chilly weather in May. The flowers held up well. This photo was taken on a cloudy day so they look a little darker than they do on a sunny day.
‘Salmon Gem’ is another species tulip I’ve recently added to my collection in an attempt to grow more bulbs that are guaranteed to return every year and don’t attract the attention of rodents.
‘Salmon Gem’ grows 6 inches tall and is hardy in Zones 3-8. The flowers are long-lasting and appear in mid-to-late spring.
